9 March 2022

The public tender for the construction of three new buildings that are part of the PACT expansion project – Alentejo Science and Technology Park was launched on March 3rd.

These three new buildings, financed by the Alentejo 2020 Operational Program, have a base procedural value of 4.9 million euros and an execution forecast of 420 days.

The PACT expansion project, developed by architect Carrilho da Graça, includes four new buildings adjacent to the current one and represents an investment of almost 9 million euros, with the support of community funds. The Infante Dom Henrique building was the first to start construction and is expected to start operating in May this year.

“We are now entering a new phase of this project, in which we are about to inaugurate the first of the four new buildings and we are moving forward in the construction process of the others”, says Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT. Sarkar also reinforces that this is a “transformative project for the region, which will allow us to attract new companies and contribute to retaining talent in the Alentejo”.

In total, there will be another 6100m2, which will allow PACT to host around 60 new companies linked mainly to its four strategic areas: Aeronautics, Circular Economy, Industry 4.0 and Health Technologies
