NTT DATA Portugal establishes Technological Hub at PACT

7 December 2022

NTT DATA, one of the 10 largest IT services companies in the world, which has a presence in more than 50 countries, has installed a Technology Hub at PACT. Initially, the company settled in a temporary space, until the definitive facilities, located in the central building of PACT, were available, which has just happened.

In this hub, where it is expected that between 10 and 30 people will work, solutions based on FronTech technologies are developed, with a strong inclination for innovation and dedicated to improving the user experience, both for national and international customers.

Headquartered in Japan and with around 150,000 employees worldwide, NTT DATA is a multinational business and technology consultancy that reinvents and transforms the activity of organizations through innovation and technology. In Portugal for more than 20 years, the company has an operation of more than 1500 people, daily committed to innovating in sectors as diverse as banking, insurance, utilities, health, industrial fabric and public administration.

In the expansion phase, with one of the four new buildings already completed and the rest under construction, PACT attracts another technology company to the region, which means more opportunities for young people.

For Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT, “this is another achievement for the region, which is gradually entering the radar of technology companies”. The President believes “that the Alentejo has everything to be the next Silicon Valley” and reinforces that “PACT is working to shorten the time frame in which this happens”.

Paulo Silva, Partner of NTT DATA Portugal, says that “NTT DATA is expanding its territorial presence in Portugal, through specific knowledge hubs, of a technological or sectoral nature, and in small or medium-sized urban centers, which offer us a strong connection to the Academy and the dynamics of the communities themselves. Knowing this, PACT proved to be a strategic partner from the first contacts, which offered us the conditions to implement our plan in Évora. We are pleased to be part of this ambitious project to transform the Alentejo into a technological center of reference and we believe that the type of projects we will develop will contribute to positioning the region nationally and internationally.”
