On June 21th, 2024, the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, chaired the inauguration session of the PACT 3.0 Complex, the four new state-of-the-art infrastructures, with about 6,000 m2, of the Alentejo Science and Technology Park.

These new buildings join the Infante Dom Henrique Centre, inaugurated in 2022, and the first PACT building, inaugurated in 2015, totalling six buildings and an area of 9,000 m2. Like the Infante Dom Henrique Center, the PACT 3.0 Complex has the signature of the architect Carrilho da Graça. Together, the main objective of the PACT expansion project aims to strengthen research, technological development and innovation in the Alentejo region. The total investment amounts to more than 10 million euros, having been supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020 and Alentejo 2020.

“With the construction and completion of the PACT 3.0 Complex, PACT consolidates its role as a driving force for regional development and renews its ambition to make the Alentejo a global reference in the area of innovation”, says Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT.

The latest PACT buildings are fully operational and have an occupancy rate of almost 100%. The entities already installed include start-ups, companies of national and international reputation that operate at the level of the areas identified with the greatest potential for the creation of a new paradigm of territorial-based technological development, such as: Aeronautics, Health Technologies, Technologies in Agriculture, and Industry 4.0. Among the companies installed are DECSIS, Empowered Startups, Fraunhofer Portugal, IPParking, ITGEST, Jerónimo Martins, N10GLED, Peak&Peak, SDAC, TE Connectivity and VCSilva.

It should be recalled that the PACT ecosystem includes more than 60 companies with majority operations in Information and Communication Technologies, Services and Management, and Communication and Marketing – corresponding to about 450 highly qualified jobs and representing a turnover of around 45 million euros for the region.
