PACT joins environmental and social sustainability in WEEE collection campaign, in partnership with local entities
20/11/2025
As a way to mark the European Week for Waste Reduction, PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park organized a campaign for the collection of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), in collaboration with APPACDM in Évora, ERP Portugal, Gesamb and NERE.
The initiative, open to the entire community, takes place from November 24 to 28 and aims to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable waste management and encourage the delivery of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment, ensuring its correct routing for recycling.
Throughout the campaign period, all citizens are invited to hand in their obsolete equipment at the available collection points:
- PACT and NERE – batteries and small appliances;
- APPACDM of Évora – any electrical and electronic equipment.
Lamps are not accepted at any of the collection points.
The social value of the initiative goes beyond the environmental impact. The total WEEE collected will be converted into a donation in favor of APPACDM – Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of the Mentally Handicapped Citizen of Évora, reinforcing PACT’s commitment to projects that promote inclusion and positive impact in the region.
With this action, PACT reaffirms its active role in promoting sustainable practices, contributing to more efficient waste management and building a more conscious and supportive community.
This initiative is part of the eWAsTER project, co-financed by the European Union through Interreg Euro-MED 2021-2027.
*Update: Due to strong participation, the campaign deadline has been extended to January 9th, 2026.
