PACT MEETS WITH PARTNERS IN ITALY, AS PART OF THE UNICORNQUEST PROJECT
18 October 2024
On the 10th and 11th of October, an Interregional Learning Event took place in the city of Genoa, located in the Liguria region of Italy, that is, a meeting of the Unicorn Quest consortium, a project of which PACT is the leader.
The first day of this event began in the Liguria Region building, where a presentation session of all stakeholders in this region took place, followed by a visit to the Talent Garden, a coworking and incubation space, where it was possible to interact with some of the companies installed there. The day continued with the consortium’s visit to the Genoa Chamber of Commerce, where projects currently under development at the University of Genoa were presented, and ended at the Genoa Blue District, a coworking and open innovation space for the blue economy, and in which a dialogue and networking session took place between all partners.
On the second day, the consortium meeting was held with the purpose of sharing learning, taking stock of the project and aligning the next steps. Following the Forest Assessments, the different partner regions were encouraged to discuss problems they have encountered and to propose solutions to them. This moment also included the presentation of a Case Study on a success story in Portugal. The meeting was followed by a presentation by three technology companies that are currently incubated at BIC Genoa (managed by FILSE, the entity that supports the Ligurian Region as a project partner of UnicornQuest). In the afternoon, the Interregional Learning Event ended with a visit to the Italian Institute of Technology, where the partners got to know spin-offs derived from academic research carried out in Genoa, and which are supported by IIT, which serves as a space for incubation, acceleration and prototyping.
