The 2nd edition of the LABWARE Startup Ideas Contest has come to an end and the winning projects are already known

“Vai d’roda” is the winning project of the 2nd edition of the LABWARE Startup Ideas Contest, an initiative promoted by PACT and ADRAL – Alentejo Regional Development Agency, which seeks to finance and reward the best technology-based projects and business ideas in the field of smart cities.
The presentation of the projects to the jury took place on December 16, in an online session. The adhesion of this second edition exceeded all expectations, and was attended by students, researchers and scholarship holders from the University of Évora, Polytechnic Institute of Beja and Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre.
In this session, four projects were awarded, with “Vai d’roda” winning first place, followed by “IntellEco” in second, “Open Heritage” in third, and “Re-World” in fourth. The three winning projects won vouchers worth €2500, €2000 and €1500 for the purchase of technological equipment and €2100 in monetary value, a prize that also extends to the fourth place. Additionally, they will also have access to technological consulting sessions, experimentation of solutions and prototyping through the Living Laboratory for the decarbonization of the city of Évora.
Startup LABWARE is an innovative project, co-financed by Alentejo 2020, which aims to support high-tech entrepreneurship initiatives that are developed from the Alentejo. All information about the project, competition and prizes is available at https://startup.alentejo.pt/.
