The DRIVEN project aims to contribute to the development of a Cross-Border Innovation Ecosystem, guided by challenges and managed in a distributed way in the territory, for a better orientation of resources and research and technological development capacity to the real needs and strategic challenges of the business fabric, especially industrial SMEs, giving rise to industrial transformation and technology-based entrepreneurship that contributes to the objectives of the of the three regions, in terms of smart specialization.
It aims to promote a culture of open innovation in the business fabric of the EUROACE Euroregion, which allows the exchange of knowledge and experiences, improving the results of companies throughout their cycle: R+D+i Management, acceleration of scientific and technological initiatives, strategic alliances and internationalization.
The main results include:
The direct awareness of industrial SMEs of the advantages of developing open innovation initiatives, aligned with their business strategies;
The effective monitoring of EUROACE companies in the expression of innovation challenges and in the identification of innovative solutions;
The connection of the cross-border R+D+i ecosystem, allowing the exchange of knowledge and experiences;
The monitoring and diagnosis of innovative activity in the Euroregion, identifying challenges and barriers, as well as areas of cross-fertilisation between areas of expertise and entrepreneurship opportunities;
Catalogue and make visible the resources and capacities of research and technological development in the different fields of smart specialisation, identifying the different areas of smart specialisation, both of research groups and of technology-based companies;
Align research resources and capacities with the challenges and needs of the Euroregion’s economic fabric, opening up new lines of research and promoting the results of research and technological development that can be transferred to industry in a shorter period;
To foster entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship based on science and technology;
Create attractive conditions for investment in technology;
Attraction of technology-based companies to EUROACE;
Retention and attraction of talent, both for R+D+i and for the development of new technology-based companies;
Create technological and methodological tools for the distributed management of EUROACE’s cross-border innovation ecosystem;
Generate resources and knowledge to improve innovation management in industrial SMEs, reducing the perception and level of risk of R+D+i, thus increasing their propensity to carry out this type of activities;
Boost the EUROACE incubator network with initiatives aligned with the challenges of industrial SMEs in the Euroregion;
Contribute to the convergence of the Euroregion with national and European averages in indicators related to R+D+i, company size and competitiveness.
