Future Lab

Problematic: The Alentejo region faces challenges in consolidating itself as an innovation centre due to the lack of advanced technological infrastructure and qualified professionals. Companies and research centres lack the resources to test and develop solutions in emerging areas such as AI, AR/VR and Digital Twins, hindering knowledge transfer, competitiveness and innovation.

Objective: The Future Lab boosts innovation and technology transfer in the Alentejo by creating an experimentation space equipped with cutting-edge technology. The project strengthens the link between academia and companies, supporting the development of new products and processes for strategic sectors — such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and Web3 — through R&D+i processes in collaboration with the PACT ecosystem and the SRTT.

Key Activities: The Future Lab offers reverse engineering and digital modelling services, enabling the transformation and simulation of products. It also works to directly support innovation in companies, providing infrastructure and technology to generate science and validate new products. Finally, it prepares professionals for the market through specialised training in AI, AR/VR and Web3.
