Objectives:
SYNCLUSIVE is an innovative, comprehensive and interdisciplinary systems approach to stimulate the inclusion of vulnerable groups in the labour market, comprising six central objectives:
to develop and consolidate a coalition of actors in 4 European regional Living Labs, according to the Community Coalition Theory of Action, using the ENGINE approach. This approach includes interventions that stimulate the upward and lateral mobility of vulnerable workers, thereby creating vacancies for vulnerable jobseekers to enter;
test the usefulness and applicability of the ENGINE approach for different identified vulnerable groups;
identification of drivers and barriers to mobility and inflow, including discrimination;
evaluation of the impact of the implemented ENGINE approach on labour market mobility and inclusion of vulnerable groups;
identification of transition pathways from the regional to the national and EU policy level;
identification of interoperable and comparative indicators and standards relevant to the labour market inclusion of vulnerable groups, taking into account the regional, national (legislative, social security) and cultural context.
Results:
The commitment of regional actors, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration, is crucial for the success of SINCLUSIVA and for the inclusion of vulnerable people in the labour market. SYNCLUSIVE therefore collaborates in an “active community coalition” between municipalities, employers, civil society and educational institutes, which interacts with its political counterparts at national and EU level in 7 European regions.
The results will lead to the sustainable inclusion of vulnerable groups in regional Living Labs, and will have a vast potential for results far beyond the scope and duration of the project. SYNCLUSIVE will contribute to generic, context-specific EU policy and policy recommendations that boost the inclusion of vulnerable groups and help to start overcoming discrimination in the EU labour market.
