Description

In its 2022 report “In Search of EU Unicorns”, the JRC describes a continuous exodus of unicorns — start-ups valued at more than $1 billion — with more than 40 companies born on European soil, but which have created thousands of jobs and billions of euros of investment in headquarters relocated outside Europe.

UnicornQuest’s partner regions will differentiate themselves by creating Small Valleys, testing grounds for future unicorns that offer experimentation camps alongside local communities.

UnicornQuest partner regions will study their regions and develop case studies on good practices and areas for improvement observed in existing regional policies and scale-up start-ups. Then, through the sharing of experiences in interregional learning events, the partner regions will come up with final proposals for improvements to regional policies, which will improve the competitiveness of SMEs and the attraction and retention of talent.
