With a program that was attended by the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa, and ended with a concert by Luís Trigacheiro, PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park marked today the entry into operation of the Infante Dom Henrique Center, inaugurated the Atrium Soumodip Sarkar and presented its new brand.

The first day of the New PACT brought together members of the government, companies, regional and national partners, and the community, to make official the opening of the first of four new PACT buildings, signed by the architect Carrilho da Graça. A project that includes over 6100 m2 and an investment of around 10 million euros.

The Infante Dom Henrique Centre will host companies such as KPMG Portugal, CEiiA and Compta Emerging Business, which were present at the Atrium Soumodip Sarkar, inaugurated by the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa, the Rector of the University of Évora, Hermínia Vilar and the PACT Administrator, Filipa Fixe. A tribute to the current Executive President of PACT for his contribution, over the last five years, to the growth and affirmation of the PACT project as a transforming element in the region.

“The fixation of these technological companies in PACT demonstrates that this New Alentejo, more technological and innovative, is already being born and we want to leverage its growth”, says Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT.

In this context of development of the region and the project, the entity presented today a new “stronger” image that “reflects the transformation of PACT over the last few years, without being disruptive with the past, but with an eye on the growth we want for the future”, explains Sarkar.

The construction process of the remaining three buildings is already underway, and the work is expected to start this month, under the responsibility of Cari Construtores. Financed by the Alentejo 2020 Operational Programme, they have a contractual value of 4.83 million euros and an execution period of 330 days.
