Indupymes 4.0 meets all objectives: PACT supported SMEs in the transport sector in their digital transformation

Indupymes 4.0, a project started in 2019 and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund ERDF, through the Interreg V-A España-Portugal Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020, comes to an end today with the objectives met.
This project, of which PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park was part, had as its main objective to support SMEs in the transport sector (automotive, naval and aerospace) and their supply chain, in the integration of the concept of Industry 4.0. Objective aligned with two strategic areas of PACT: Aeronautics and Industry 4.0.
The success of the project was due to the various initiatives that were developed over these two and a half years, namely: the creation of two physical demonstration centres for the testing of technologies applied to SMEs in the transport sector and a virtual demonstration centre, where 4.0 technologies that could be introduced in this sector were addressed; the mapping of entities in both regions that provide specialized services within the scope of Industry 4.0; the development of a Methodology for Digital Transformation; the realization of training programs in Industry 4.0 aimed at CEOs and those responsible for digitalization in SMEs, administered by the Universities of Évora and Seville, and which had more than 100 participants; and the development of a technological platform that supports SMEs in carrying out digital transformation processes, facilitating management and production tasks. The initiatives relied on the cooperation work of all the entities that were part of the consortium made up of several actors from Portugal and Spain and led by the Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA-CATEC), including the University of Évora, PACT, Center for Excellence and Innovation in the Automotive Industry, Portuguese Association for the Aeronautical Industries Cluster, of Space and Defense, Alentejo Regional Development Agency, Design and Automation Ningenia, Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs, Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Sevilla, Agencia de Innovación y Desarrollo de Andalucía and Universidad de Sevilla.
