PACT discusses the future of the Alentejo with more than 60 regional and national entities

9 August 2022

Over the last five months, PACT promoted three focus group sessions and twelve workshops with the participation of 62 entities, including regional government, higher education institutions, companies, associations and private institutions of social solidarity, with the aim of carrying out a prospective analysis of the national and international competitiveness opportunities of the Alentejo region, thus anticipating the possible paths that should be taken by entrepreneurs and entities in the region.

During the sessions, the areas of expertise previously identified in the Regional Strategy for Smart Specialisation 2030 were discussed, in order to obtain more accurate and representative information from the regional players that intervene in them, namely Sustainable Energy, Sustainable Bioeconomy, Mobility and Logistics, Tourism and Hospitality, Cultural and Creative Ecosystems, and Social Innovation and Citizenship.

The meetings were also used as a space for reflection and sharing and also to promote collaboration between the participating entities, one of the objectives of the Regional Technology Transfer System, led by PACT.

The conclusions of this study will be, together with research work and information collected in surveys of the regional business fabric, later shared publicly.

This activity takes place within the scope of the project “Network for the Promotion of Qualification and Knowledge of Alentejo”, funded by the Portugal 2020 Operational Program, led by the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRA), and consisting of the University of Évora consortium, Intermunicipal Community of Lezíria do Tejo, Intermunicipal Community of Baixo Alentejo, Intermunicipal Community of Alentejo Litoral, Intermunicipal Community of Central Alentejo, Intermunicipal Community of Alto Alentejo, Padre António Vieira Institute, PACT, and Alentejo Regional Development Agency.
