PACT HOSTS KICK-OFF MEETING OF THE H2TALENT PROJECT, IN WHICH IT IS A PARTNER

First Green Hydrogen Valley in Portugal with recognition and funding from the European Union kicks off in AlentejoPACT had the honour of hosting, last Thursday (April 11), the kick-off meeting of the H2tALENT project, in which it is a partner and which is led by the University of Évora, a member of the South Campus – part of the European hydrogen network.
The opening session was attended by Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT, and Paulo Quaresma, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Internationalization of the University of Évora, followed by the 29 partners of the project and the objectives and tasks to carry it out.
During the afternoon, the public presentation of the project to the community was held, with the presence of Hermínia Vasconcelos Vilar, Rector of the University of Évora, João Sàágua, Rector of the NOVA University of Lisbon, Paulo Manuel Roque Águas, Rector of the University of Algarve, Pedro Furtado, Chairman of the Board of Directors of HYLAB, Marco Ferraz, Head of Galp’s Upstream and Industrial Innovation Centre, Carmen Carvalheira, Vice-President of the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission – CCDR Alentejo and other figures involved in the project.
The H2tALENT project is one of the four Green Hydrogen valleys approved by the European Commission in 2023. Funded by the European Commission’s HORIZON programme, it has an overall budget of 13.5 million euros, of which 9 million to support the implementation of the first Green Hydrogen Valley in Portugal and will last for five years.
H2tALENT’s mission is to generate knowledge, drive innovation and achieve a positive impact focused on “green” hydrogen, transforming the future of Alentejo and Portugal, towards a more sustainable and “greener” future.
