PACT hosts Workshop “Sustainability and Traceability of the Agri-Food Value Chain”

On February 2nd, the Workshop “Sustainability and Traceability of the Agri-Food Value Chain” took place at PACT.

The event brought together the business community from the agricultural, manufacturing, transport and logistics and retail sectors to discuss the challenges of the agri-food value chain and the importance of sustainability and digital traceability. In addition, the results of the research of the BIOMA project were also shared, in terms of strategic vectors of sustainability and traceability.

The workshop began with the opening session, which was followed by the presentations of the Biome Project and siBIO – Sustainability index for Bioeconomy. After the coffee break/networking break, the topics covered were: Biotrace, Challenges and opportunities of sustainability and traceability in the agri-food value chain and also Digitalization of the Nabeiro group’s innovation system, followed by a debate. After lunch, the participants heard about Good practices and financing opportunities in the agri-food sector and watched some testimonies. After a brief break, a Round Table followed and later, the event closed.

This workshop was organized by Bridge Point, an onPACT company, and the University of Évora, together with the co-promoters of the mobilizing R&D project “BIOma – Integrated BIOeconomy Solutions for the Mobilization of the Agri-Food Chain”.
