PACT is part of INDUPYMES+, a project that will help the digitalization of SMEs in the transport sector in the Andalusia-Alentejo region
12 April 2023
The INDUPYMES+ consortium held in March the kick-off meeting to launch the capitalization actions of a new project aimed at improving the competitiveness of SMEs in the Andalusia-Alentejo cross-border region, consolidating a dynamic of cooperation and reinforced and permanent integration at the business and institutional level.
INDUPYMES+ is an initiative that comes after detecting how most SMEs in the advanced transport sector lack specific plans and experienced staff to incorporate digital enablers into their processes, a common challenge in the regions of Andalusia and Alentejo.
Led by the Centro Avanzado de Tecnologías Aeroespaciales FADA-CATEC, the consortium is composed of PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park, the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FEDEME), the Cámara de Comercio de Sevilla, the IDEA Agency, the company NINGENIA S.L., the Universities of Seville and the University of Évora.
Thanks to cross-border cooperation and quadruple helix interaction, the project aims to carry out concrete implementations of digitalisation plans, put into practice the transfer of knowledge to SME managers to develop short, medium and long-term actions, as well as to propose R&D&I (Research, Development and Innovation) programmes that help SMEs to increase their digitalisation. These results will also be transferred to other areas and sectors, sharing the good practices identified.
The INDUPYMES+ project will help to improve and implement the results obtained in a previous project, INDUPYMES 4.0, thanks to the interaction between academia, public administration, business and civil society. The continuation of the business incubator launched in the INDUPYMES 4.0 project is planned, paying particular attention to the creation of SMEs and micro-enterprises in rural areas. In addition, it is planned to implement pilot training programs for CEOs and those responsible for Digital Transformation, through the organization of visits to companies in Alentejo and Andalusia.
The INDUPYMES+ project is co-financed by the Portugal-Spain Cross-Border Cooperation Operational Programme (POCTEP 2014-2020).
