PACT joins a consortium that aims to improve the competitiveness of the aeronautical cluster in the Andalusia-Alentejo region
15 December 2022
The AERIS+ consortium, integrated by PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park, has started the capitalization phase of the ANDERIS project, developed over the last three years, with the aim of consolidating a reinforced and permanent dynamic of cooperation and integration at business and institutional level, in order to improve the competitiveness of the aeronautical cluster in the Andalusia – Alentejo cross-border region.
This project arises from the ambition to bring together the two regions with strong aerospace potential: Andalusia and Alentejo, through key players in the business and institutional sphere. Led by the Seville Chamber of Commerce, the consortium is made up of PACT, the Andalucian Aerospace Cluster; the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies FADA-CATEC; the IDEA Agency, the Alentejo Regional Development Agency, and the universities of Seville and Évora.
The objective is to value the activities developed by the AERIS project from the point of view of their dissemination to new target audiences and their complementation, in attention to the continuity paths identified in the original project.
Key actions include the creation of a permanent Monitoring Committee, which will seek to create a space conducive to mutual knowledge, the exchange of ideas and the transfer of knowledge between companies and entities in the sector of the two regions. Additionally, in 2023 a business visit to the Alentejo will be organized to learn about the opportunities of the sector in this region, business meetings and B2B meetings to reinforce the opportunities for collaboration between the agents of the sector.
The AERIS+ project is co-financed by the Cross-Border Cooperation Program between Portugal and Spain (POCTEP).
