PACT MEETS WITH STAKEHOLDERS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE eWAsTER PROJECT

On July 8th, PACT held a meeting with regional and national stakeholders, within the scope of the eWAsTER project.
The session aimed to identify the main obstacles to the implementation of better WEEE waste management policies in the region, as well as to discuss operational solutions and public policy recommendations.
The meeting was attended by regional environmental and waste management entities (Gesamb, Ambilital, Resialentejo), both national electrical and electronic waste management operators (Electrão, ERP Portugal), the Hygiene and Public Cleaning Unit of the Municipality of Évora, and the Environment, Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Unit of the Municipality of Évora.CCDR-A in the competence of licensing entity.
The session resulted in concrete recommendations and priority actions to be implemented next year, with a focus on institutional cooperation, strengthening supervision and improving collection systems.
