On March 10th, PACT was present at the 3rd General Assembly of the H2tALENT project, held at the Ciência Viva Knowledge Pavilion, in Lisbon. The meeting brought together the co-promoters of the project and other relevant entities in the area to take stock of the project’s progress and align future priorities.
Organized by the New University of Lisbon, Ciência Viva and the University of Évora, the meeting had as its starting point the presentation of the state of implementation of H2tALENT. The leaders of the different Work Packages shared the main results achieved throughout 2025, as well as the goals and ambitions set for 2026.
The agenda also included collaborative work sessions, in which partners were divided into groups to discuss opportunities, challenges and strategic decisions. The focus was on topics such as governance models, financing mechanisms and the development of the technical infrastructures necessary for the consolidation of the project.
One of the central moments of the meeting were the learning sessions, which brought relevant contributions to the hydrogen ecosystem. The presentation of the Basque Country’s hydrogen valley was highlighted, with the sharing of critical success factors and its development path. This was followed by the intervention of the New University of Lisbon on the potential of green hydrogen in the Portuguese economy and its role in the path to carbon neutrality by 2045.
The initiative also included a round table that brought together entities such as the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology, the Municipality of Évora, the Alentejo 2030 Regional Program, WinPower and Galp, where the essential conditions for the success of the green hydrogen valley in the Alentejo were discussed.
The session ended with the intervention of Jean Barroca, reinforcing the strategic relevance of the H2tALENT project for the national energy transition.
As a co-promoter of the project, PACT reaffirms its commitment to innovation, collaboration and the development of sustainable solutions that position the Alentejo and Portugal at the forefront of the green hydrogen economy.
H2tAlent is a project co-funded by the European Union and supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and its members.
