PACT promotes ideas contest and prizes in the area of Smart Cities

Within the scope of the Startup LABWARE project, PACT, together with ADRAL – Alentejo Regional Development Agency, launches the Startup LABWARE Ideas Contest and promotes additional prizes in the Poliempreende contest.
The ideas competition, aimed at the academic community of the University of Évora and entrepreneurs with tax residence in the region, aims to finance and reward technology-based projects and business ideas that respond to challenges for the urban development of the Alentejo, and that fall within the themes of Smart Economy, Smart Mobility, Smart Environment, Smart People, Smart Living and Smart Governance.
The three winning projects will receive vouchers worth €2500, €2000 and €1500 for the purchase of technological equipment. Additionally, a prize of €2100 will also be awarded to the four best projects. Registration is open until May 31 and can be made on the startup.alentejo.pt/ideias-e-premios website.
The Startup LABWARE supplementary prizes are part of the Poliempreende regional competitions of the Polytechnic Institutes of Beja, Portalegre, Santarém and Setúbal. Aimed at students from these institutions, they also intend to reward projects and ideas in the area of Smart Cities.
In each Polytechnic Institute, the winning project within this theme will receive a voucher of €500 for the purchase of technological equipment and the four best projects will receive a prize of €2100.
Startup LABWARE, funded by the Alentejo 2020 Program, aims to support entrepreneurship initiatives of high technological intensity, focused on the theme of smart cities, which are developed from the Alentejo region (NUT II) and that have a direct impact on the management and emerging needs of the city environment.
