On the 9th and 10th of May, PACT received the visit of the Unicorn Quest consortium, a project co-financed by the European Union, within the scope of Interreg Europe, and of which PACT is the leader.

The project involves 14 partner entities from 10 countries and aims to create “Small Valleys” with a strong vision for creating, attracting and retaining unicorns, or start-ups that have the potential to become unicorns, based on Europe’s unique values of human rights, freedom, democracy and equality.

On the first day of the visit, the various members had the opportunity to get to know PACT and its ecosystem. In the afternoon, the working group met with Carlos Pinto de Sá, Mayor of Évora, who made known the work developed in terms of promoting and attracting entrepreneurship. Subsequently, the group also had the opportunity to visit the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, one of the main institutions committed to conducting efforts for regional development, acting in various areas, such as social, educational and cultural.

The second day of the visit began in the multipurpose room of PACT, with the intervention of Tiago Teotónio Pereira, Executive Member of CCDR Alentejo, a partner entity of the project. Then, the kick-off meeting was held, which dealt with technical, financial and communication aspects of the project and explored some relevant methodologies for its management. During the afternoon, the group visited the University of Évora and met with the Vice-Rector of the Institution, Paulo Quaresma, who shared the work carried out by the University in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship.
