In April, PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park will resume the “PACT Talks” with a session held as part of PACT’s participation in the eGames Lab project. The event consists of a debate that will focus on the technologies used in the video game industry and the role that Portugal can play in what is currently the main economic engine, worldwide.

The discussion will be moderated by Hugo Coelho, President of TecPaques, and the panel of speakers will be composed of the following experts:

Anabela Marto – Coordinator of the Degree in Digital Games and Multimedia at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria;
Marco Bettencourt – CEO and Founder at Redcatpig;
João Rodrigues – Executive Director & Founder of Cyango.
Among the various topics, the event will explore the main technological trends worldwide in the industry, what opportunities and challenges exist in the current panorama, what characteristics make our country the potential European hub of this industry and what efforts are already being made in this direction and by which entities. In addition, the socio-economic benefits brought to the country by the industry will also be investigated and what advantages the technologies used in video games may represent in the future, when applied to other areas.
