PACT WAS PRESENT AT ANOTHER SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION EVENT, IN MARSEILLE
4 July 2024
On June 18th and 19th, the event Shaping Sustainable Innovation in the Mediterranean took place in Marseille, organized by the Community4Innovation project of the Sustainable and Innovative Economy Mission (ISE) of Interreg Euro-MED. There were two days of interactive sessions and group activities with people and organizations working for a more sustainable Mediterranean region.
eWAsTER, as part of the Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission, was represented by PACT, the project leader, who actively participated in the two days of the event. This project aims to promote local and regional policies for a more effective management of electronic waste, reducing its environmental damage in the selected areas and fostering innovative business models based on the transition of the electricity and electronics sector from a linear model to a sustainable circular model.
On June 18, the Community of Practice (CoP) of the Interreg Euro-MED ISE Mission was launched, which aims to create a permanent community that encourages dialogue and coordination between projects, with activities that can be identified as complementary in favor of innovative sustainable practices in the Mediterranean region.
On 19 June, the first edition of MED Innovation Day took place, a dynamic event that reinforces the vision of a more sustainable Mediterranean, addressing key themes such as empowering local communities for meaningful and inclusive actions; the role of research in informing and stimulating innovation; the balance between zero waste objectives and socio-economic priorities in policymaking; and the role of the private sector in promoting of sustainable innovation.
This was another moment to strengthen connections and find new ways to address sustainability challenges, through more transformative smart specialization strategies.
