PACT was present at the 2nd MED INNOVATION CAMP, in Barcelona
13 June 2024
On 28 and 29 May, Mediterranean policymakers from S3 and Euro-MED project partners met to discuss the role of Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3) in the green and just transition in the Mediterranean.
eWAsTER, as part of the Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission, was represented by PACT, the project leader. And it aims to promote local and regional policies for a more effective management of electronic waste, reducing its environmental damage in the selected areas and fostering innovative business models based on the transition of the electricity and electronics sector from a linear model to a sustainable circular model.
On the first day, the participants had working sessions in which they applied a methodology developed in cooperation with the European Union to support and align innovation initiatives and Smart Specialization Strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals, to the population exodus from rural and inland areas.
On the second day, round tables and practical exercises were carried out, involving policy makers, and exploring best practices to connect Euro-MED projects, Smart Specialization Strategies, and Euro-MED’s mission of the Innovative Sustainable Economy.
This was a time to strengthen connections and find new ways to address sustainability challenges, through more transformative smart specialization strategies.
