Startup LABWARE has more than €14,000 in prizes for solutions in the field of smart cities

The Startup LABWARE Ideas Contest, promoted by PACT and ADRAL – Alentejo Regional Development Agency and funded by Alentejo 2020, is back for a second edition and seeks the best technology-based business ideas in the field of smart cities, which are part of the challenges identified in the cities of Beja, Évora, Portalegre, Santarém and Sines.
From November 1st to December 8th, all students, teachers, researchers, scholarship holders, entrepreneurs and new entrepreneurs, with or without an incorporated company, residing in Alentejo and interested in developing a project in the region, can apply on the project’s website (https://startup.alentejo.pt/ideias-e-premios/ideias-e-premios-2a-edicao ), where they will also find the challenges to which they must respond.
The final pitch and awards ceremony will take place on December 13, at PACT’s facilities. The three winning projects win €2500, €2000 and €1500 for the purchase of technological equipment and €2100 in monetary value, a prize that extends to fourth place. Additionally, they will also have access to technological consulting sessions, experimentation of solutions and prototyping through the Living Laboratory for the decarbonization of the city of Évora.
During the application process, those who apply will have access to various activities developed to help entrepreneurs improve the final project. There is a technical workshop on November 26 and 27 and an entrepreneurship bootcamp, with a date to be defined. Participating projects will also be able to access the Entrepreneurship Workshops held in the 1st edition, already available on the Startup LABWARE website.
